The picture on the wall makes it.

lol, the Far Side was the best. Im reading Lonesome Dove right now and just picturing some of the cowboys in that book being snakes is cracking me up.

Yeah. His inclusion of little winks of detail in his not-that-sophisticated-drawing style? Totally made the cartoon work.

Not only that, but the worried older cowboy snakes with mustaches in the foreground and the coke bottle lenses on the barkeep. And the fact that the *obvious fecundity* signal on the snake on the wall is a swollen belly - full of a piglet and ready for mating or demonstrating a clutch of eggs? Only Gary knows for sure.

I just have a question regarding the picture on the wall... it’s a snake... sleeping... with its head on two pillows. WHY TWO PILLOWS? did head not end on first pillow?

Strictly speaking? FOUR pillows...
Because? Snake orgy.

You’re saying that the last snake brothel you went to, the girls weren’t “lounging on pillows” and were actually trying to sleep? There’s the unrealistic nature of art for ya.
Yes, that’s the joke - lewd painting in old west bar. something Tex Avery cartoons used to riff on.

If nothing else, old western hollywood slang of “yellow-bellied sidewinder” and other snake metaphors gets
really weird
when it’s actual snakes involved.
